Joomla! is an award-winning content management system (CMS), which enables you to build Web sites and powerful online applications. Best of all, Joomla is an open source solution that is freely available to everyone. What's a content management system (CMS)?
A content management system is software that keeps track of every piece of content on your Web site, much like your local public library keeps track of books and stores them. Content can be simple text, photos, music, video, documents, or just about anything you can think of. A major advantage of using a CMS is that it requires almost no technical skill or knowledge to manage. Since the CMS manages all your content, you don't have to.What are some real world examples of what Joomla! can do?

WordPress started in 2003 with a single bit of code to enhance the typography of everyday writing and with fewer users than you can count on your fingers and toes. Since then it has grown to be the largest self-hosted blogging tool in the world, used on millions of sites and seen by tens of millions of people every day.
Everything you see here, from the documentation to the code itself, was created by and for the community. WordPress is an Open Source project, which means there are hundreds of people all over the world working on it. (More than most commercial platforms.) It also means you are free to use it for anything from your recipe site to a Fortune 500 web site without paying anyone a license fee and a number of other important freedoms.About WordPress.org

Drupal is a free and open-source content-management framework written in PHP and distributed under the GNU General Public License. It is used as a back-end framework for at least 2.1% of all Web sites worldwide ranging from personal blogs to corporate, political, and government sites. It is also used for knowledge management and business collaboration.
The standard release of Drupal, known as Drupal core, contains basic features common to content management systems. These include user account registration and maintenance, menu management, RSS feeds, taxonomy, page layout customization, and system administration. The Drupal core installation can serve as a simple Web site, a single- or multi-user blog, an Internet forum, or a community Web site providing for user-generated content.
As of April 2015, the Drupal community has provided more than 31,000 contributed modules. Such modules alter and extend the core capabilities, behavior, and appearance of a Drupal site. The Drupal community comprises more than one million members (as of October 2013) and 31,000 Developers (as of February 2014). "The Drupal Overview", a feature of the project web site, describes it as a content management framework. Drupal also describes itself as a Web application framework, as it meets the generally accepted feature requirements for such frameworks.
Although Drupal offers a sophisticated application programming interface for developers, basic Web site installation and administration of the framework require no programming skills.
Drupal runs on any computing platform that supports both a Web server capable of running PHP and a database to store content and configuration.

Magento is an ecommerce platform built on open source technology which provides online merchants with a flexible shopping cart system, as well as control over the look, content and functionality of their online store. Magento offers powerful marketing, search engine optimization, and catalog-management tools. We believe that Magento is one of the best ecommerce platforms available today, with editions ranging from community open source, to massive, large-scale enterprise SaaS based systems.Magento
Magento's ability to scale allows shops with only a few products and simple needs to easily expand to tens of thousands of products and complex custom behavior without changing platforms. It offers a variety of plug-ins and themes which can easily enhance a customer's experience. There are a lot of aspects to the online store which need to be configured, and how well that is accomplished is often dependent on business acumen. When it comes to custom functionality, however, that is where more complex programming is required.
Magento is designed to be utilized as an application by someone who isn't a developer. The Magento community is extremely large and very helpful. However, at some point the average person is going to hit a wall.
There are a number of reasons why developers are called upon to adjust a Magento website. It is a very robust system even at its most basic, more so even than a Drupal site (and Drupal is no lightweight). Once you begin to integrate with other systems, or introduce tens of thousands of products, businesses often need the assistance of experienced developers. As an example, we've had clients need additional options for how they view their dashboard. Typically you might be able to select viewing products in groups of 5, 25, and/or 50. We have a client who wants to view 2000. The functionality can be changed only up to a point; beyond that, it needs to be customized by an expert who really understands Magento, and follows best practices.
Experienced developers will also tell you that speed is of the essence in ecommerce. No one wants to have to wait for systems to reload when you're doing a lot of online shopping. With such a robust list of features native to the application, strains can be put on your server.

Dynamic websites contain Web pages that are generated in real-time. These pages include Web scripting code, such as PHP or ASP. When a dynamic page is accessed, the code within the page is parsed on the Web server and the resulting HTML is sent to the client's Web browser.
Most large websites are dynamic, since they are easier to maintain than static websites. This is because static pages each contain unique content, meaning they must be manually opened, edited, and published whenever a change is made. Dynamic pages, on the other hand, access information from a database. Therefore, to alter the content of a dynamic page, the webmaster may only need to update a database record. This is especially helpful for large sites that contain hundreds or thousands of pages. It also makes it possible for multiple users to update the content of a website without editing the layout of the pages.
Dynamic websites that access information from a database are also called database-driven websites.
Selling online can be incredibly rewarding and, if done properly, it can also be very lucrative. UK consumers alone spend billions of pounds online every year, and ecommerce websites have the potential to turn over significantly more revenue than any bricks-and-mortar shop.
It is important to note, however, that not all ecommerce websites are created equal. A good online store should provide users with a great design, an intuitive interface, a clear idea of what they’re purchasing, and a straightforward journey from landing page to checkout. It should also be flexible, scalable, easy to manage, and – most importantly – developed using the very latest coding techniques and integrations.
A bespoke ecommerce website will be fine-tuned precisely to your business’s requirements and to the needs of your customers, but understand that hand-crafting a website of this quality requires great skill and experience. Success simply cannot be achieved with an off-the-shelf, one-size-fits-all solution, so if you want to get the best possible return on your investment, speak to our experienced ecommerce developers – they take every element of ecommerce design into consideration, building bespoke ecommerce websites that give far better results than off-the-shelf ecommerce solutions.
There is no doubt that the mobile-age of the Internet is upon us, with more and more people accessing the web on their mobiles, smart phones and touch pads. It is almost inconceivable for businesses not to have a mobile-friendly website… Or is it? Well, statistics show that across the world businesses are being much slower in the uptake of mobile sites than the growth of mobile web is demanding. Surprisingly, even some of the big Ecommerce players have not gone mobile friendly yet.
Every website we design is mobile-friendly (meaning that your site will always be viewable and function properly from a mobile device), but a strong trend towards mobile-specific websites is definitely in progress… for good reason.
Mobile-specific websites are formatted (much like the name suggests) specifically for site visitors accessing websites on their mobile devices, and they offer the best user experience for your site visitors. They are quickly becoming the new standard for internet searching on mobile phones because they function (and look) much like an app -- big buttons, limited scrolling, quick navigation, etc.
According to Latitude, 61% of people have a better opinion of brands when they offer a good mobile experience. And what happens when site visitors enjoy navigating around your site? They stay on your site longer, they engage with your brand longer, and you have a higher chance of getting them to do business with you.
